Creditors are more willing to help you develop a plan to pay a bill if you talk to them about your situation. To do this:

• Contact your creditor as soon as you can. Tell them that you will not be able to pay your bill by the due date.
• Explain the reason why, as well as when and how much you will pay them.
• Then pay as promised.
